About Me and Verify™
My name is Ian Ray.
Before business, my life was built around performance, discipline and achieving results.
I won the Berlin Marathon, represented Great Britain, became a Team GB gold medallist, held a world record and won more than 500 races during my competitive career.
After sport, I moved into the commercial world, buying and selling hotels and working on complex transactions involving buyers, sellers, brokers and intermediaries.
It was during this time that I discovered a recurring problem.
Too much time was being spent pursuing opportunities that were never going to complete.
Weeks and sometimes months could be invested into a transaction, only to discover that a key individual, company or opportunity could not ultimately deliver what was being represented.
That experience led me into cybersecurity and intelligence.
I became the Founder and CEO of Cyber Patrol, a specialist online protection company focused on helping protect high-net-worth individuals, their families and their digital assets.
Working in that environment reinforced a simple lesson:
Good decisions depend on good information.
Verify™ was created to help address that challenge.
